I haven't played minecraft in a few months, but I had done all the migration and updated launcher stuff, etc before i took a break. Now the launcher wouldn't let me do anything but offline mode, and when i tried to back out and log in again, I can't log in at all. It says "Sorry, but we're unable to connect to our servers" etc...
The launcher startup also has Downloading: https://s3.amazonaws...ncher.pack.lzma (try 9/10) Didn't find an update in time. Reversing LZMA on C:\Users\Chris\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft\launcher.pack.lzma to C:\Users\Chris\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft\launcher.pack Exception: javax.net.ssl.SSLHandshakeException: sun.security.validator.ValidatorException: PKIX path building failed: sun.security.provider.certpath.SunCertPathBuilderException: unable to find valid certification path to requested target
everything I read about this says reinstall update minecraft, reinstall/update java, take off firewalls, reboot, etc... I have done all these things countless times and I am at a loss.
I realize it looks to be an SSL or java root issue, but I have no idea what could be causing it, I have removed all firewalls and updated and reinstalled java a lot.
Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Cleaning up C:\Users\Chris\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft\launcher.pack
Starting launcher.
Check your system date is correct aswell.
You may need to uninstall java completely, then reinstall it, installing it ontop of whats already there doesn't always fix issues.
I'm not sure I understand, I posted everything I see at the end of the post, after that it forces me to the Username/password login screen, and it tells me it can't connect to the minecraft servers, and that's as far as a I can get in the launcher. Yes it is the official launcher.
I am also having this issue. A couple hours ago, whenever I started the launcher, it would load my profile up fine, but would only let me play offline. So then I tried logging out, to log back in, but upon trying to log in I get the same error as you. I have migrated my account and all that, and I'm still able to log in to Minecraft.net, but I simply can't log in to the actual game.
Here is a slightly different message I got from the launcher, maybe that is what you meant:

*Edit: This also does not even allow me to the login screen, the launcher won't actually start at all, I just get this message. Not that it's much different than before, but still worth noting.
After more tinkering and downloading an older version of java (as advised by a friend), I am now able to get the launcher to stay up, it has me logged in and only able to play offline. This is what the Dev Console says:

I know this may seem dumb but could your username be Navrus I mean your username on MCF is that. Just a thing to try, I know you just made the Minecraft Forums account but still give it a shot.
Yes I'm sure, the launcher used to tell me "Logged in as Navris", This forum name is the name i usually use, but when I bought minecraft it was taken, so i switched the "u" to an "i", that was back before the merge and you needed a username to log in and not an email.
