Just updated to 1.7.4 and it will not launch. 1.7.2 works fine. I have updated graphics drivers, updated java. Still no luck that that version:

Your drivers has crashed. Please provide your DxDiag Log and paste it to the gist (make a secret gist and give us a link).

Your GPU is not supported for Minecraft 1.7.4 and over. 1.7.4 now requires OpenGL 2.1 in order to support shaders and the shading script. Your only two options is to play versions that came before the change or buy a new computer.

Thanks for your help. I had a feeling that could be the problem but i was hoping there was a way around that. My computer, though old, works really well, so buying new one just so that my 7-year old can play updated minecraft seems like an unnecessary investment. Thanks again.
