Alrgiht, so I recently got minecraft for the PC and so far, it hasn't been much fun. Simply because it just lags a bit and the frame rate is never consistent, mostly between 10-40 fps. Does anyone know how I could fix this to make it run smoother?
Here are some computer specs if it helps:
Processor: AMD Turion(tm) 64 X2 Mobile Technology TL-60 2.00 GHz
RAM: 4 GB
System type: 64-bit
(With newest version of 64-bit Java)
Also, I've tried these following things:
- Changed in-game settings (Like to fast graphics, no clouds, etc.)
- Tried to allocate 2GB of ram, although when I press F3, it says that 15% of my ram is allocated (or deticated), not sure if that matters
- Set priority to high
- downloaded a simple texture pack
What else can I do? Could I maybe get a new graphics card?
-Turn your FPS all the way up to the maximum.
-Turn Particles off.
-Download Optifine (it's a mod designed to increase FPS)
-Turn AdvancedOpenGL on.
-Turn VSync on.
-Try force updating your Java.
-Exit out of any other programs that are running before entering the game.

First of all, there's no need for allocating more RAM unless your going to be using mods, because vanilla minecraft uses around 300mb max. Second of all, that processor isn't really good for gaming. I mean not to mention the price tag on it ( which doesn't neccessarily always mean something bad ), but it only has 2 cores ( which doesn't matter much for minecraft except that more cores means that your system can allocate to different cores for certain programs to help them run better ), and its only 2Ghz ( which isn't half bad ). Also, make sure you don't have a lot of programs in the background, because the more RAM your using, the worse off you are. Also, I could tell you to upgrade your graphics card, but you didn't state what you have at the moment?

Im pretty sure advancedopengl makes it more laggy so I wouldn't turn that on.

All Vsync does is limit your FPS to 60.
