Im having a really annoying problemo - After installing a new modem, I have not been able to access multiplayer. All of my servers ping for several minutes, then they say "can't connect to server." Whenever i try to join a server, it loads for along time and then it says "java.net.connectionException: connection timed out: no further infromation:" I am really ticked of by this; can someone pls tell me whats going on? I am pretty sure its a network error. If it is, what should I do about it?!?! The all powerful google-one does not answer my questions.Thx, Bobbinkin

I was wrong - we got a new modum not router. Why would this effect me?
If u really got only a new Modem (don't can think that today a standalone modem will soled to privet user)
u have bad luck.
But i think u got an modem/router combo like all provider soled, and the only thing that maybe stop u from connect to an server is an wrong going IP package or an firewall.
If really only u Modem was change.
Special the default Minecraft port 25565.

Thanks for the suggestion, but I don't think so. I can still access servers on different networks. Plus I could play 1.7.4. before I got my modem.
