After 1.7 came out, my Minecraft has the inability to launch. No matter how many times I click on it, it never opens at all.
I can't figure out why. I even deleted .minecraft and re-downloaded Minecraft so it would download the files again in case the original files became corrupted. Nothing of the sort occurred.
I use Java 7 Update 45, an Intel i.3 Core, and Norton 360 as my anitvirus software.
Please tell me how I can make Minecraft launch again.
P.S: If it involves getting rid of Norton, please describe a different solution, as it is very unlikely/impossible that I'll choose another antivirus software.
We need to see what is in your Development Console, which can be found on the second tab of the launcher.
First, copy all of the text: click on the text, then press Ctrl+A then Ctrl+C. Then paste it in spoiler tags in a reply for us to see.

A dev console output would be the best option in the first place, seeing as Norton may in fact not be the issue.
Lol, he can't open minecraft dude. How can he get the dev console?
You need to reinstall Java.
First, go to the Programs and Features in Control Panel (Add and Remove Programs on XP). Uninstall everything that says Java in the name. Then, go to http://java.com/en/download/manual.jsp to re-install Java.

EDIT: Sorry, mis-interpeted your question. Getting rid of Norton would be the only solution. Try kaspersky.
