I'm running a three week old mac mini and whenever I look at an entity I get this strange graphical glitch were depending on the angle I'm looking at something, a side will be completely black, but if I change the angle, it goes back to normal.
This issue occurs with:
- cows, sheep, players, basically any mob
- boats and mine carts
- chests
- my hand
My specs are:
Processor 2.6 GHz Intel Core i7
Memory 16 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
Graphics Intel HD Graphics 4000 768 MB
Software OS X 10.8.5 (12F45)
I haven't the slightest idea why it does this but keep in mind it doesn't always do this, only when I'm looking at something at a particular angle.
Can you please post your DxDiag? A moderator posted a tutorial on how to do this in the Tutorials section.
Mac OS X does not have the ability to produce DxDiag logs. That is a Windows diagnostic test.
To the thread author, it may be good to check if you have any software updates, this is most likely tied to the graphics drivers. To do so, click the Apple icon in the top left of the screen, and click Software Update. Continue to install updates until there are none.
If there are none, and the "glitch" is still there, you may need to tweak the video settings and see which option would "fix" the issue.
I believe my software is up to date, I have had this problem since the day I got this computer a couple weeks ago. even now it says my software is up to date, but i believe you are right about it being the graphics card because on my old computer, which was an nvidia card, i did not have this problem at all. Also when i tried updating through the intel website it gave me an error saying that it was unable to check if my driver is up to date even though the apple updater said it was.
