Is there any fix for the severe lag in the nether. It makes this game unplayable beyond this point. I can turn my render distance down to 3 chunks and it helps only slightly and definitely doesn't help when fighting off a ghast when you can't see it or where the fireballs are coming from. I played in the nether for the first time yesterday and it seemed fine. Today it is garbage. Not sure when I updated from 1.7.2 to 1.7.4 and don't know if that has anything to do with it but this is garbage. I've played with all the settings on the game and my system to no avail. I'm running a A6-3400M APU with Radeon HD 6520G graphics. I know it's not the best but it's not very old or that bad either. I like trying to play the original game without mods. Have heard Optifine? is good but don't seem to have a release for 1.7.4 yet. Is this true? Any other ideas or solutions?
To Java or MC specifically? I tried up to 3G with Java but didn't seem to help any. Thought that should be sufficient.?? I reverted back to 1.7.2 and seemed to be better. I still have to have MIpmap off though which I didn't yesterday.? I'm only at like 25% load on my Gpu though.

What are you talking about? That option is not even available if I right click.
