I used to play minecraft on my windows 7, and it worked perfectly fine.
My previous antivirus (Avira) managed to annoy me to the point I uninstalled it, and installed Kaspersky. Apparently, after uninstalling Avira, my computer stopped working normally, and after I performed a system restoration, it stopped working in safe mode too... (only a black screen with a movable mouse pointer remains when windows finishes loading)
After that, I gave up recovering that windows instalation -.- Instead, I installed windows 8 on the same machine (on a different partition).
The problem though is that minecraft simply won't work anymore. The launcher tells me to update my graphics drivers, but they seem to already be at the latest update.
... It all pointed to the graphics card, but windows didn't recognize them as outdated or anything...
-.- then I went to AMD website to download Catalyst Software Suite manually, and it worked. go figure...
But thanks anyways
