Stays on Demo Mode?

When my friend tries to log into his account on the launcher version 1.3.6, it says 'Play Demo'. He's tried numerous ways to fix this such as re-logging, re-downloading the launcher, and even trashing the '.minecraft' file. Is there anything he can do to fix this predicament? Any help is appreciated.
