Now i'm sick of it all. I can't connect to ANY of my friends servers, they all tried to make one. Everyone can join except me. I can't make a server either, becuase when i do, they can't connect. I have windows 8. I have not done anything wrong in the way of making the server or something. I think it's the firewall, but OFCOURSE, i can't turn it off because the text is grayed out, and "why dont you google it t fix it" I tried, i tried to fix the grayed out text thingy, but it didnt work. WHAT CAN I DO!? I cant connect, or host.. but i can perfectly fine join other servers like, like hypixel or something.

As a connectivity test, can you connect to us.oc.tc?
We'll also want to look at a HijackThis log.

Is your firewall allowing Minecraft through?

Well, i have now fixed the "can't turn off firewall" problem. so i can turn it off.. But i'm afraid of the risks, may something happen if i turn of firewall just to play on the server for like an hour?

For me, there really isn't any risk. If it's just your friend's server, or any other popular server. You should be fine. Any server you connect to (even if it isn't popular or isn't your friend's server) you should be fine.

You are not high-profile enough for it to be a risk.

If Bill Gates disabled his firewall, we'd have a whole new problem. But for now, you will be fine.
