So I have tried all I can.
I have a really old laptop and it keeps shutting down the reason is because the plug gets unpluged and it runs out of power. I don't notice when this happens all the time. I have lost two worlds due to this. I will try and explain to the best I can about what is going on.
When I play I'm playing with one to three other playes on a local network. so when my pc powers down it shuts down mincraft with out saving and kicks us off.
Now that it has happened about 10 times on each map it starts to mess up.
I will list the issues.
It wont load stays stuck on downloading terrin
it will load but chucks are missing where you have been and it's just a huge hole- shows for all players on map
it lags to the point where you can't even walk, dig, open or close doors
If I copy it in game or in folder it still wont act right.
I hope that is the full list of stuff that I have noticed.
I like to play where it's all stuff we have mined and grown. We don't wanna cheat. This was alot of hard work and want to save it. If anyone knows how we can save the world and all the stuff inside and fix this I would love it! Thank you
You should consider duct tape for the plug (It fixes everything!)
For the not saving bug: Since your computer is the one crashing, you should probably have one of your friends be the ones hosting the server. If you're not running a server and just doing "Open to LAN", you should probably switch to a server if you do this regularly, and don't be the one hosting it. Because you're doing LAN only, setting up a server isn't too tough, but it does require a little computer know-how. It will still be LAN only unless you decide to port-forward it; but that's a different topic.
For the world not loading, I'm not sure what to say. It looks like your world is corrupt. Are you the only one having issues on that world? If not, then it probably is corrupt, and there's nothing you can do but delete it and start over.
Also wanted to add that it is only on the two maps. All other maps play just fine!
Towards the bottom of the post there is a link that says "edit". This is nice as you don't have to put a new post again, and you can add anything you want. You might find that useful
I don't know what that is.... Just like you it might take a a few to find that out and get back to you! But thank you so much for wanting to help!
Its a Service to upload Files and share to the "Internet / other people. http://www.mediafire.com/ Is one of them. (i use it to as an free service)
Put u worlds in an Zip or Rar File and upload it there.

P.S.: Don't delete u worlds, most time, mosts of an defect world are possible to recover.
This happened to mine and I got the error minecraft has run out of memory, just edit the settings to highests possible, then the lowest it worked on my old laptop
