So I have a Lenovo Y410p Laptop and I'm getting horrible FPS. Usually I have 80-120 at anytime in game. Now I struggle to get 40. My NVIDIA drivers are up to date and I have no idea how to fix it. Is this a problem with minecraft or my computer. The FPS dropped happened during 1.6.4 but its gotten worse. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you in advance.
What's your current FPS? You might be using Software rendering instead of Hardware rendering, for some reason. That's pretty much all I know. Are you using any shaders?
I just noticed my fan is not activating while I play. There must be problem with the GPU but I have it set in the NVIDIA control panel to run minecraft, any ideas on a possible problem?
I managed getting 30fps on High Performance but that's still horrible compared to the 80-120 that this laptop is capable of.

So after messing around with my PC I saw there was a windows update(I have windows 8) I'm now running 50-60 FPS which is finally playable but my FPS is never breaks 60. Not sure if this is designed or still my computer not working properly, in minecraft I have it set to 120 max and am usually over 60FPS
If it never goes over 60FPS and seems to hardly drop lower either (indicating it could/should go higher), you likely have v-sync enabled, which caps your frame rate to your monitor's refresh rate.
Wow I'm so dumb, I didn't remember V-Sync, thank you so much I'm finally getting my 80-120 FPS again. Thanks for all of your help, I really appreciate it.
