My daughter was playing Minecraft and now has a problem we don't know how to fix. Any help would be very appreciated.
She hit ESCAPE (esc) and then was looking for a key because one of her keys didn't make sense. She meant to hit the key but accidentally hit the reset key. It reset all of her keys. She now can't find the button to place block. She can only find pick block or drop block or attack/destroy. Does anyone know what we need to do? We are using a Mac.
unfortunately that isn't it. after you hit ESC, and then controls, that is where it isn't located. she said the pick block no longer is an option and isn't there.
no no....its not on a mouse. its on a MAc as i stated and please read the entire post so you know whats going on. just read it and you will see what the issue is. thanks for the suggestion though...appreciate you taking the time to check it out and reply.

I said, "not sure if you have one." Obviously I know it's a Mac. The "pick block" is the scroll wheel. If it's a crappy Mac mouse, then you just press Ctrl+click to place a block. To pick a block, since you don't have a scroll wheel you can't do it.
The issue is we don't even see the option to use place block on the control screen. My daughter has been playing for about a year and its not there now. it seems to have just disappeared. odd.

Probably because it detects only one button on the mouse. Either way it doesn't matter, you can just use the Ctrl+Click command.

Deleting the ini would just restore the default settings. The ini does not store any data as to what options should be available, only what those options are set to.
It doesn't matter if they only have one mouse button or not, the option to bind a control to a key or button should still be there.
You guys aren't helping at all.
Something with the game's code itself has likely been altered, possibly from a mod or something. Try launching the game with a new profile, and if that doesn't work, back up the save files, completely remove the game, and reinstall it.
what does ini mean? and when you say something was altered possible fro a mod, what is that? sorry for my ignorance, i just am not that tech familiar nor familiar with this game.
A .ini file is a generally hidden file containing operating system options. Minecraft doesn't generate any, though, and it's in Windows, so it probably doesn't apply to you.

Thank you.

Chances are, when it redownloads the .jar file, It'll work.
