I have been having trouble logging on to minecraft at my school. I can play on a friend's laptop and he also uses the school's internet to connect, I can't even play offline. So I have determined it's my laptop that can't access the Minecraft servers. I'm running on Win7,64 bit, M.S. Essentials and Avast(free version) along with Java 7u45. Please help.
Ok it works at my house, but my friend can use his laptop at school. We are in an afterschool program that lends us laptops and I can't use mine to play but he can?

Moderatorhave you tried disabling your anti virus's to make sure they aren't blocking minecraft?
I haven't tried connecting at home, but I will try. How should I check my antiviruses for it, is there a blocked path folder?
