Would like to try Minecraft, but am unable to even run the demo, with the error message (truncated by screen):

Failed to launch -- The working directory could not be created: /Users/####/Library/Applic...

This is on a Macbook Pro running OS X 10.8.5, with Java 7 Update 45 installed.

Any other info I could provide to help figure out why I can't even run the demo? Not very likely to buy the full version, otherwise...

i'm guessing (as i don't know macs) that you need to run the client with admin (root) privileges
