My launcher and minecraft in general seems to be working great, but the load time is attrocious compared to what it used to be. The load bar on the bottom takes a minimum of 5 minutes to load before minecraft finally launches. Other than that everything works great.
Could be a number of different things... how strong is your PC? How good is your internet connect? Are there a lot of people in your house downloading? What version of Java you have?
You could try deleting your Java's cache (Control Panel->Java->Settings...->Delete Files...), but I don't think that this will help.
The more info that I get, the better the chance we have of fixing this problem

Well my PC strength is "Very" =) (Built it for gaming, shouldn't be the issue)
My internet is from a school dorm so I would say it's pretty tay but it's proven to be pretty good at times. I'm not possative that its the problem.
Pretty much everyone ever is downloading all the time since its dorm network. But like I said, it impresses me at times.
I thiiiink my java is the most recent but I could be wrong. I've always let it update itself when it says it wants to.
The guy up told you the reason, because Amazon servers are down/overloaded sometimes, that's the reason why many people can't update. The launcher files are downloaded from Amazon.
