When I run the current minecraft client I end up with two Java processing, one of which keeps running after I close minecraft. Together they take up 100% of my CPU. This change happened overnight with no modifications to minecraft on my end. I've even tried a fresh install of minecraft and just get the same result. I'm on windows 7 and everything is up to date. Does anyone know if this is a bug or is there a way I can stop minecraft from having two java processes?
Stop both java processes. Now reinstall the newest version of Java and run Minecraft.
I had the same thing, but it didn´t take up 100% of my CPU. Afaik some websites need java too to run properly, so make sure you don´t have any websites open at the time. Another solution could be the termination of the one java process that doesn´t run Minecraft.
Normally you would expect to have up to two java processes.
One is the launcher, and one is the game.
The launcher closes / terminates depending upon what you have configured the profile to do.
terminating either one causes minecraft to crash. I did notice that it only does it on one save. I think my chicken/egg farms might have caused my world to go corrupt or just lag to the point that my PC can't handle it.
Or do you have a massive amonunt of item frames hanging around? This causes extreme lags. I once did that, and i could delete the world, even after breaking every frame i placed.
only 3 item frames. I started a new world and it worked as normal. I'm gonna try to get my friend to go in on his computer and wipe the animals out. He has a lot higher end PC which should have no issues.

But it probably isn't normal for it to be 100%
