There seems to be a problem with Mojang's servers, even though their help page says everything is working; I get the same errors, although I can play without problems; I was even able to download and play a version I didn't already have.
Ran my virus scanner right after I posted this & guess what? over a dozen viruses & my virus protection is on 24/7. I am thinking I may need to turn off the "remote access" permissions that I have granted to Mojang! The only other thing we did yesterday was try to play FTB! You guys may want to check your downloads from the games. My virus program kept telling me to do a "boot scan" & I did. If Mojang likes to play behind the scenes on my computer they are going to start running into a problem. We already have the worlds slowest ip server, I don't need someone else making this game UNPLAYABLE just because they have REMOTE ACCESS!! I've gotten viruses from that kind of crap before through Mircosoft, I won't let anyone else do it again.
My husband bought me this comp just to play MINECRAFT not so they could virus it up the wazoo!!
After doing a bit of personal research it appears there is a virus attached to the last Java update. I don't think Java is aware of it or they would have fixed it by now.
How did I find this out? I uninstalled java, downloaded it new & when I went to click on the update my virus sscanner went nuts when a second page popped up.

Ok so what does all this mean?
Do I have a virus in my MC game??
TheMasterCaver's First World - possibly the most caved-out world in Minecraft history - includes world download.
TheMasterCaver's World - my own version of Minecraft largely based on my views of how the game should have evolved since 1.6.4.
Why do I still play in 1.6.4?
My husband bought me this comp just to play MINECRAFT not so they could virus it up the wazoo!!
One very very ed off Mouse this morning!
