Hello everyone. So, after my Lenovo ThinkPad (I think it was that at least) had it's LCD break on me I took my hard drive out of it, and put it inside my older computer which had a hard drive failure (This was an Acer Aspire 4733Z) and I loaded up a network driver from the internet (via my brothers computer. I put the driver on a USB and installed it) and downloaded the rest of the drivers needed for the computer.
After a long break from Minecraft, my friend invited me to play on ZombieHorde.net
I tried to long onto it and it did not work. Only one hunger games server based in my country (Canada) worked. I was wondering if it's possible I'm missing a driver or something that wouldn't let me go on servers from other countries? o.0

If you and your brother have the same network driver, and you both are having the same problem, could it be a network driver problem? I'm sorry if I'm wrong, but try reinstalling the driver yo installed previously.
I haven't tried to connect to this server, but I'll try to give a shot.
Just to get an understanding, you've mentioned that you and your friend can connect to the local server but not the other servers. It might be possible that they are region locking their servers so that only local users can connect. The only way to test that is to connect to a VPN in that area and try.
If you are able to connect to one of them, then I doubt that it is a driver issue. Plus your friend can connect to that one, correct?
You could always connect one PC to the modem and test. If you have a cable modem, you'll have to power cycle it (disconnect the power from it, wait 15 seconds and then plug it back in) If you can connect, then it's a problem with the router. If you do this, you'll have to power cycle it again once you connect the router back. DO NOT press the reset buttons on these devices, it will set them back to factory defaults.
I went to their website, but couldn't find any info. I bet though that they are region locking, from what you are saying.
Without knowing what servers you are trying to connect to, I'm not sure how to fix this problem. Is it possible that their server is down? Is it a modded server? You mentioned that you had to downgrade for Provenance, are you the same version as the server? Are you using the correct port number?
There are to many variables to pinpoint what wrongs, especially since I haven't tried to connect to the server myself.
All of my friends (including ones from the same city) can connect to Mineplex, zombiehorde.net, prisonbreakservers, and all the other non Canadian automated hunger games servers.

I tested Mineplex (using the server name from their website) and I was able to connect, and I'm also Canadian. Is anyone of your friends able to connect using the same ISP (Internet Service Provider) as you? I'm using Teksavvy, which goes through Rogers. Are you using the IP address (192.x.x.x) or the server name (someserver.com) to try to connect? I ask because maybe it's a DNS thing, if you are trying to connect by server name, try using the IP address.
I'm running out of ideas. I tried searching on their forums but came up empty.
No problem, I'm trying to advertise for my new Lets Play and I figured the best way was to help people on the forums. Plus you asked for a Super Genius, so here I am
I'll continue trying to help as long as you want it.
Are you able to ping the Mineplex server? I tried connecting to the server with a different version and it works.
Here is what I have enabled in my profile:
-Auto ask Mojang...
-Launcher Vis... Close when game starts
-Use Latest Version
I'm also going to list the things that I assume are correct:
-You are logged into your account and not offline
-We are dealing with at least 2 computers on the same network
-If wireless, you are connected to your network and not your neighbours
-You have disabled all firewalls (including Windows Firewall)
-Your Java is up to date and you are using a 64bit version (if OS is 64bit)
If one of your computers is a laptop, have you tried outside of your network (connect to a friend's network)?

My brother and I both have laptops connected to the same network, I'm on the correct internet, I am not offline in Minecraft.
I shall look at those links you just posted and I might just check out your stuff

Nope, completely vanilla. I've tried pinging ZombieHorde.net and it seems to ping fine and I've tried going on 1.6.4 to play it but that doesn't work either. I've turned off all my firewalls (Antivirus and windows firewall) and I've tried turning them on and adding exceptions to Java and such but the same result occurs...

If it is a bug, there isn't to much we could do... unless we go looking in the code I'll keep looking for a work around or something, but you might have to wait for the time being

It doesn't work on my brother's computer either.
java.net.ConnectException: Connection timed out: No further information
zombiehorde.net works for everyone who isn't on my network and it's making me so angry...

However my brother recives a different error both plugged to the cable and wireless.
io.netty.channel.ConnectTimeoutException: connection timed out:
I've tried with a good 8 or 9 servers. Only the automated hunger games work, and Provenance, a server I used to frequent, works if I downgrade to 1.6.
My error is java.net.ConnectException:Connection timed out: no further information:

EDITTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT: So you know I can only connect to Canadian automated hunger games servers in 1.7.2.
