Similar Sound Problem

I'm on a Mac OS X 10.8.4 and just updated to the new Minecraft launcher to try 1.7.2. I just updated to Java 7. The script runs, the launcher starts, and everything appears smooth and normal.

There is absolutely no sound, but the game plays flawlessly otherwise.

Please help and thanks.

Go to Options in Minecraft and turn sound on from there, and press the volume button on your Mac and make sure you did not mute it.
