Hello Forum. I have myself a Confounding Map Issue. I was trying to make a minigolf course in Creative. I just finished the 18th hole. However, when I loaded the world back up, 2 seconds after it loaded, the game froze. I have determined that the game only freezes when you approach the course, as the world spawn is a distance away from it, and when typed "/kill" and respawned, I wasn't lagging. Newly created maps do not lag. I'm pretty sure this is a map issue and not a client or computer issue. I've updated my graphics drivers, and Java is up to date (My Java version is "Java 7 Update 45"). Now, I would call myself a decent troubleshooter, but I cannot for the life of me figure this one out. I ran it through Minecraft Region Fixer, and it came up clean. Another issue is that no error message pops up in the launcher development console. That's one of the reasons why I think it's a map issue. Now, the map is fairly intensive (maybe 20 pistons throughout the course), but I've been running it fine until this issue cropped up. I'm convinced that's not the issue.
Specs:
RAM: 8 GB
Processor Speed: 2.4 GHz
OS: Windows 8
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GT 750M
My computer is less than a year old and brand new (Lenovo Y410P). It has great specs, so I believe that my computer is not the issue either. I tried out a suggestion I found and deleted the unused brush (block 31) from the map. Didn't work. I tried MCEdit's Repair Regions. Nada. I tried pruning the map, saving the course. Still didn't work.
If someone could help fix this for me, I would greatly appreciate it, because I'm all out of ideas. (I have a backup of the map, but not of the map before it started lagging.) Now, If it turns out that is unfixable, I won't be depressed or anything. I can always create a new map and rebuild the course. But I put a lot of work into it, and I really would like to get this map fixed. I just can't do it myself. So again, help would be greatly appreciated. I'll even let you play the map if you fix it .
