Hey guys.
Been having a really annoying issue on and off lately; when placing a block, it places 2. This occurs in both single and multiplayer.
I've seen this issue posted many times on the forum, and as expected most people simply reply. "lag. get better computer."
What I have tried:
- Fresh minecraft install (client, jar, etc)
- Different storage mediums and devices
- Minimum settings
- Optifine
- McPatcher
- Different texturepacks
- Default texturepack
- Different mouse
- Different mouse settings
- Computer restarts
- Allocating more memory
- Allocating less memory
- Different USB ports (2.0,3.0)
Edit:
Now... strangely; if I set the place block button to a key on the keyboard there doesn't seem to be an issue. I have also tried binding they placement key to another on my mouse; resulting in the same placement issue.
So that isolates it to being mouse issue - that is not restricted to the mouse I am using; because other mice have been tested and showing the same issue. That leads me to believe its an issue with Minecraft's way of handling mouse input.
Hopefully this post is also useful to others who are having issues and are tired of "its lag." My machine exceeds 3,000 FPS with minimum settings. I actually thought it might be my CPU clock speed running too quickly for it to handle.
It's just a common problem on laggy computers. try reducing video settings.
