First off, I understand this is my first post, so forgive my ignorance.
I'm hoping that someone here can help me out. My issue is that any world or server I attempt to load in 1.7.2 for the first time causes my Minecraft to operate very slowly, and eventually stops responding, and I have to close it via task manager. I do have a rather low-end computer, but I still get upwards of 100 FPS normally.
However, any world or server I have previously loaded in 1.6 or earlier works fine after upgrading to 1.7.2. But, I wished to join some new servers, but am unable to since I cannot load them, unless they are also operating in 1.6.
Note, my Minecraft is not crashing, for there is no error report. It simply runs so slowly, I am forced to close it. If you need the specs of this PC, here they are, straight from DXDIAG:
System Model: HP Compaq dc7700 Convertible Minitower
Operating System: Windows XP Professional SP3
Processor: Intel Core 2 CPU 6400 @ 2.13GHz (2 CPUs)
Memory: 3.5 GB RAM
Graphics Card: Radeon X1600 Series
Graphics Memory: 256 MB
Before you ask, yes, I have backed up and deleted my .minecraft folder and tried again.
Any advice you could offer would be welcomed and appreciated.
