I just wanted to bring this to attention, I finally decided to make a big wall map yesterday which is 6 wide x 5 tall.
I noticed that after I completed putting the maps in sequence on the wall, if I got close to the map to look at anything, depending on how I was turned some of the maps would disappear from view and only show the block behind that one piece of map. here's a pic to show what I mean:
the top and left parts are missing in that pic, but they're back after moving slightly in this pic:
I think it has something to do with the item frames themselves, not the maps. my theory is that when you turn away and your not focused on the item frame behind the map piece it disappears, even though it expands the map piece to a full block size it will only detect it as a normal sized item frame.
