Ever since I started playing Minecraft on my desktop PC, I've been experiencing TERRIBLE performance. When playing by myself or on a server, I average about 8 fps. I'm running an HP PC, here are some of the specs:
-Pentium(R) duel-core CPU E5300 @ 2.60GHz
-6 GB of RAM
-Windows 7, 64 bit
-Intel(R) G33/G31 express graphics card

-I've already played around with the video settings, and even with all settings at their lowest it still sucks.
-I have the latest (and correct) version of Java
-This problem has existed since 1.6.2 and hasn't gotten better nor worse with 1.7
-I don't run any mods, only thing I'm running is a 32-bit texture pack (with doesn't change anything, it's the same with the default pack)
-I close down everything when I play except Skype
-I've tried using Razor Game booster, doesn't seem to help noticeably
-I do not have Optifine, and cannot get it until the 1.7 version is released
-It seems to be using about 20-25% of the allocated (40%) memory
Maybe I'm missing something, but it really seems like I should be getting more than 8 frames per second with my computer. Any and all help is massively appreciated.

Retired StaffIf you did before then it was a miracle that you did. That is quite an old integrated card by Intel.
