A few weeks back ago, I forwarded my port and set up a DNS server so me and my friends could easily play Minecraft together. Server was running smooth until one day we couldn't connect, I checked my DNS server and the IP did not match, but I though I could just wait it out a couple of hours, seeing that my IP is dynamic, and changes once in a while.
The next day we still couldn't connect, and I had some problems connecting to a server, this might just be a coincidence, but later that night my internet seemed a bit messed up, and i could not connect to my minecraft user. Even later almost every page on the internet seems inaccessible, EXCEPT facebook, google and youtube for some reason. Minecraft launches with this message:
Even though it ends with "Starting Launcher" I can't connect with my username and password. When I type in correct user/pass combination I get the message "(SocketException: Network is unreachable: connect)".
It seems like it started out with a simple problem, but has now spread itself like a virus!
I've tried to flush DNS and reset ipconfig, but nothing seems to work. And I would have thought this was an internet connection problem, but the weird thing is that Facebook and YouTube is the only sites I can connect to, so messing a bit with the firewall setting wouln't help.
I would first recommend contacting your ISP to see if its anything on their end, and try connecting via a different computer. If it only happens to your computer then it's safe to assume you've been infected with some sort of malware, or that your internet settings were very messd up.
