So whenever I try to log in to ANY 1.6.4 Minecraft server, I get the error Failed to login: java.io.iOException: Server Returned.... ect. ect. Picture is below. Anyways, I don't get this error when running Minecraft 1.7.2, but I get it when running Minecraft 1.6.4. I've tried reinstalling Minecraft, changing internet connections and routers, it seems like everything. Help.mojang.com currently says all servers are up. My computer's firewall is not blocking Minecraft or any of it's inbound or outbound connections. If anyone could help me that would be awesome. Thanks!
You may have a problem with your hosts file, which overrides DNS queries. Please follow the following directions:
Press Win+R. In the window that appears, enter %SystemRoot%\System32\drivers\etc, and press Enter. In the window that appears you will see a file, 'hosts'. Open that file in Notepad, and copy the contents and paste in spoiler tags in a reply.

You were right, that was it. Your spoiler didn't work but it turned out I had the Mojang servers in it already. I may have had them in wrong before when I was trying to fix it because when I removed the server it started working again. Problem resolved!
