You need to reinstall Java.
First, go to the Programs and Features in Control Panel and uninstall everything that says Java in the name. Then, go to http://java.com/en/download/manual.jsp, and download and install Windows Offline (64-bit).
yea i tried that already (and i repeated the same process) mmm... im using an university connection ( of course i got the establishment's agreement ) which uses a firewall and a proxy (located on the servers), i think that could be the problem.
So i tried a software called Frozenway which allows you to put another proxy and to use it instead of yours, and surprise Minecraft WORKS but since it's another proxy it's very slow (it took me 4 hours to update Minecraft) and also the establishment noticed it and doesn't want me to do this anymore which i understand since it doesn't really seem legal and since people can take informations about you like passwords as it is a "public proxy"...
So I'm trying to search other solutions for the issue because before i could play minecraft with this connection and without any problem but since they made the new launcher with the 1.6...
I know people who use cracked version of minecraft ( but it's the "old launcher") and they can still play...
for someone who purchased the game it's really flabbergasting to see cracked versions work better than his.
There is a fix. You need to have the university allow minecraft to connect to mojang's auth servers, which for the life of me I can't seem to recall. Sorry. I remember them starting like: s3.amazonaws.????, something like that.
