When I was attempting to download and place some new sounds into a resource pack of mine, I accidentally deleted the sounds.json file under .minecraft. Ever since the sounds.json file has been deleted from my .minecraft folder, I have not been able to launch mincraft, which is very frustrating. So I was hoping that someone could help me restore the sounds.json file into .minecraft so that I will be able to launch minecraft again.
(the way i made this stupid mistake was that I was planning on replacing the sounds.json file in my resource pack assets folder so that I could use the new sounds.json file that I downloaded, but I mistakenly went to the .minecraft/assets folder and deleted THAT sounds.json file instead)
So if you can please help I would greatly appreciate it because as of now, I am without minecraft
what ou should be able to do is make backups of your worlds and saves amongst other things and try to uninstall and reinstall minecraft. alos im not sure if this will work. but since 1.6.4 launcher they allow you to choose which version of minecraft you want. you can try installing another verion by deleteing an existing one and just reinstall it. sort of like a force update
So my minecraft has decided to /magically/ fix itself somehow. My best guess is that the minecraft executable jar file re-implemented the sounds.json file, fixing my issue. Thanks for your help anyways, i'm just happy that my minecraft is up and running again!

When you launch minecraft is goes through all of the files and makes sure everything is there so when you play the game it can run, When it found you did not have the sound file it re-made it for you, Awesome right? Anyways glad you got it working
