Whenever I try to play on a server in minecraft 1.7.2 with java SE7 u45, I cannot join any servers.
The multiplayer menu tells me "Can't connect to server." for all the ones I have, and trying to join one gives a message: "java.net.SocketException: Permission denied: no further information"
Any ideas of what I can do?

There are 10 kinds of people in the world. Those that know binary, and those that don't.
The server could be down, not the right version, or just netty (network code that mc uses) being buggy. Also check your internet. And single player.
