I'm super frustrated. So, a few weeks ago I got Minecraft for my birthday, and it made me really happy. I downloaded it, but it didn't work. My computer is a HP 2000 Notebook PC with Windows 8 on it. At first it told me I needed Java runtime environment 1.6.2. whenever I tried to open Minecraft. My uncle installed Java, but it still didn't work. I uninstalled Minecraft and then re-installed it, and something popped up saying a whole bunch of stuff I don't really think is significant and then this:
"FATAL ERROR: net.Minecraft.bootstrap.FatalBoostrapError: Unable to download while being forced
at net.minecraft.bootstrap.execute (Bootstrap.Java:95)
at net.minecraft.bootstrap.Bootstrap.main (Bootstrap.Java:381)
Please fix the error and restart.
Does anyone know what a "Bootstrap" is? How can I fix the error if I'm not sure what's wrong. . .? I would just really like to be able to play the game I payed for. Thanks for anyone who can help.
Other notes:
I have tried restarting my computer.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled Java.
It doesn't matter which Minecraft download I try, none of them work.
