I am having horrible chunk loading issues on 1.7. While traveling I get huge areas of unloaded chunks and, if I check F3 my frame rate will be 60 while the Chunk updates will be sub 10, often 0. If I pause the game the chunks will eventually load and if I save and exit then reload they load up instantly.
My system is a Core I7 3700K, 16GB Ram (2GB allocated to Minecraft), Gforce 660 and Minecraft is installed on an SSD. Drivers are up to date, Java is x64 and has been reinstalled. I have had this issue since the snapshots for 1.7 came out. 1.6.4 is fine
I believe I found a solution. I noticed that my frame rate was capping at 60fps but it was set to 120fps in the video options. After changing the frame rate cap in options to 60 I now get WAY more chunk updates (Sometimes displaying upwards of 500 chunk updates!)

This fixed my problem as well! I now get more chunk updates but I don't run to the end of the world and have to wait for more chunks to load. thanks!
