HI, my name is Arseny. I have a crappy netbook, with a slow prossesor and 2 GB of ram.
I get 30 - 40 FPS in minecraft. How did I do this? Well, first I installed optifine, that helps increase FPS most of the time. another thing you can do, is (if you are on windows) press Ctrl + Alt + Delete, press start task manager, and close any prosseces that are not nessasay, BE CAREFUL, i am not responsible for anything that happens to your computer. the last thing I have found, is in optifine video setttings, turn smooth lighting to off on both the slider bar and button, this should increase your FPS by ALOT,m I know it did for me, I usually got 5-15 no I get 30 - 40
This wouldn't fix my problem my FPS goes crazy all the time... and I am running on windows xp!

Well it would be appreciated if you post something a bit more useful.Optifine is a very popular mod and it'll only boost like 5+ fps.The task manager thing is useless unless you right click Minecraft and go to process and then set priority to high which will give you 20+ fps.You could also turn your settings to the lowes giving you much more fps.
With fancy settings I have 1000+ fps
With lowest settings I have 3000+ fps.
You right click on the task bar then click start task manager.
Start minecraft (like not just the launcher, the actual game) and then go back to task manager.
click more details and then click the tab that says details
right click the javaw.exe process using more resources
hover over the set priority text and then click 'Realtime'
##IMPORTANT##
DO NOT ALLOCATE MINECRAFT MORE RAM!!! IF ANYTHING GIVE IT LESS!!! TOO MUCH RAM WILL CAUSE IT TO GO SLOWER!!!
##END OF IMPORTANT MESSAGE##
Then a dialog box will come up and ask you. Say yes
Now go back to minecraft and play
after all this is finished get a better OS... Windows 8 sucks, everything is derped
So, Unfortunately since this is Windows 8. The Worst. OS. In. The. History. Of. Time you will have to do this again every time you start minecraft, so. Still happy you upgraded?

P.S. This is what I do, it may not work for you.
NEVER set a process to "Realtime" That's just asking for a system freeze. And what OS keeps process priority settings? Win 7? No. So dont bash 8 for not doing it either.
