I go to run the minecraft launcher, I click on it, nothing opens at all. So I downloaded the advanced minecraft error testing application. Here is what came up:

When my friend's Minecraft launcher stopped opening, we tried downloading Java again, and it worked. Try downloading the latest Java version here: https://java.com/en/download/index.jsp

I deleted the java file I found when I searched for it in the "open file location" when it was running but that didn't work.
