In whatever snapshot introduced the Super Secret Settings I pressed the button a few times then I got to this Blurring effect which stuck where every block more then 3 blocks away is heavily blurred and makes the games unplayable for me.
Then 1.6.4 came out and it went away since it doesn't have those settings but just now I updated to 1.7.2 and for whatever reason the glitch came right back so now 1.7.2 is useless to me. Pressing the button just plays a random sound now and that's it. Is there something I can do to reset the graphics to normal?
My secret settings reset to the default every time I go all the way back to the launcher.
It may be that there was a version where this was persisted across sessions, in which case it might be a line in options.txt that you could delete with a text editor.

I wish it was a simple as a restart but in my case nope. I don't see anything in the options file. I even went in the 1.7.2 jar and deleted the shaders folder completely and used magic launcher so the official launcher wouldn't just overwrite it but it's still doing it.
I wish they would just get rid of these secret settings and it's really annoying because it seems I'm the only one on the planet with this problem. I don't know what else to do. I'm not using any mods at all I don't get it.
Does anyone at all know where the Super Secret Settings are really kept so I can try to delete them so they won't work maybe? One last attempt here if anyone can offer any suggestions at all it would be appreciated.
I can't believe I'm the only one with this problem It seems like a glitch with the game not my computer specifically.
Well that's what I was trying to figure out when I found out that they reset for me each time I go back to the launcher.
I didn't find anywhere where the super secret state was saved. Not in options.txt, nor in any of the json files, etc.
Did you try a reboot?
edit:
New Information
F3 debug screen shows you the current shader as the last line
F4 turns the shader off

Nothing works.
The F3 screen doesn't even show the current shader. I googled and I see what you're talking about but the last line for me is "ws: fs: g: fl:" whatever that stuff is supposed to indicate. I found one other person with the problem with no solution.
EDIT: I got it. i set mipmap levels to zero and that fixed it. Thanks for the help

This worked for me, too; finally, a REAL solution!
All praise be to you, Dude! =D
Edit: This is the only place I've found this online so far.. could this get stickied or something? o.O
