Since updating to 1.7.2, I have not been able to play in any of my Minecraft worlds. I've never encountered this issue until now.
I am able to hit Play on the Minecraft launcher, enter the Minecraft startup screen, and navigate all the options and settings. When I attempt to log into a world, it usually shows the "Loading World" and "Building Terrain" stuff, and I enter the world, seeing my HUD, complete with the stuff in my inventory, hunger bar, and health bar. The screen is otherwise completely black, though. And some of my inventory images are black as well...as if some item codes are corrupted.
Within a few seconds, Java gets hung and shows (Not Responding). In my many attempts, this has had slight variation...sometimes hanging in the loading state (while the dirt background is still running, before you get into a world), and sometimes hanging after entering the world and hitting escape and a menu pops up (along with the "open your inventory by pressing "E"" achievement bubble).
This has remained consistent whether logging into a private 1.7.2 server or a single player map. And I can verify that my character has actually entered the world and is visible to other players.
I have also not used any of the snapshots between 1.6.4 and 1.7.2, so I'm not sure if those would've had this same issue.
Also, this is not in full screen mode.

I think the "Game ended with bad state (exit code -805306369)" is related to me force closing Java. This error log seems to indicate nothing wrong with my comp's power or the game engine...but possibly something related to the translation of the java commands to what is displayed...maybe resource packs?
Computer specs:
OS: Windows 7 Professional 32-bit
Processor: Genuine Intel(R) CPU T2300 @ 1.66GHz
RAM: 2GB
Graphics: ATI Mobility Radeon X1400
Things I have tried:
-Waiting for over 15 minutes
-Rebooting
-uninstalling old Java versions, reboot
-uninstalling newest Java 7 Update 45, reboot, install Java 7 Update 45, reboot
-deleting .minecraft folder and allowing launcher to recreate it
-attempting login with newly generated world
-deleting Minecraft.exe, re-downloading, re-launching
-increasing RAM dedicate to Minecraft to 1GB
-downloading resource pack
-searching for newer graphics driver...the one I have is the most up-to-date
I'm at a loss for what to do, short of wiping out my comp and starting with a fresh install of the OS and everything.
I am having the exact same problem, my hot bar, health bar and hunger bar shows up fine but the world is just black. Then java stops responding. I have used the snap shots in between 1.6.4 and 1.7 and I had the same issue with them! I hope someone finds a solution for this soon because I really want to play 1.7!
