Thank you for taking the time to read this.
I updated to 1.7.2 yesterday and it worked fine. This morning i updated my java to version 7_45 and now i get the error that says, major minor error 51.0 . Please help asap. Thank you

Do you have a 32 bit or 64 bit OS and which java update did you download 32 or 64?

Generally, I download both versions of Java as a rule of thumb. Also, can you get us a proper log? Is this Minecraft crashing or Java? Also, JDK might help.
