Hi, for the past year almost, I have been unable to play Minecraft on my PC. It runs perfectly smooth, no lag or anything, then suddenly my screen would turn a solid color, and after a few seconds my PC would reboot itself. There's no specific color the screen changes, it's usually green, pink, or sometimes orange. Also the crash doesn't occur at any specific points. It could happen from the moment I load a world, to after 30 minutes of gameplay; it's completely random. I've noticed that it seems to crash less when the render distance is lower.
I've had this problem for a long time, and it has been near impossible to troubleshoot, so any help or at least some troubleshooting tips would be greatly appreciated.
System Specs:
Intel Core i5-2500K CPU @ 3.30GHz, Quad Cores
8.00 GB of RAM
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 570
64-bit Windows 7 Pro
it kinda sounds like a virus but im not too sure since it your computer doesn't reboot on anything else. do you have any anti-viruses?
Yeah, MalwareBytes, and Spybot. I don't think it's a virus, it seems to be more related to the video card. Maybe Minecraft isn't compatible very well with my GPU?
