It’s been 24 hours since my Minecraft game updated to 1.7.2, and as soon as I’ve gone straight into making a new survival world there has immediately been a problem that has made the game unplayable.
The game runs fine until I place any flower, torch, sapling, mushroom, lever (doesn’t seem to happen with seeds, sugar cane or weapons) or similar item in my hand as if I’m going to place it, then the graphics go totally nuts and blocks everywhere become transparent and flicker. The only objects unaffected are water, lava and mobs it seems.
I’ve looked everywhere on the internet and I’m guessing that I’m one of few people with this problem, so frustratingly it seems like this glitch won’t get fixed in an immediate update and so I can’t just wait it out. I’m dying to just play in the new 1.7.2 but I can’t farm, I can’t go caving, I can’t plant trees, I can’t do redstone, so basically the whole game is rendered unplayable. It happens in every map type and in every game mode.
The game requires an exit and restart to temporarily fix this problem, but I also found that if I change the ‘3D Anaglyph’ option On and Off, it is also a temporary fix because it wipes the displayed graphics and basically redoes it all for the new setting.
I’ve completely wiped and re-installed Minecraft, updated my video card driver, uninstalled everything Java related and reinstalled the latest Java version and the problem remains. I run no game mods whatsoever and haven’t for a long time. No graphics setting causes or fixes the problem. I’m not using a different resource pack to the standard Minecraft one.
nvm I'm a noob and forgot to search for pre-existing threads about this, I'll try uninstalling my graphics driver and see what happens when it's updated again.
Yep well that didn't work....looks like I have to forget about 1.7.2 until it hopefully gets fixed in the next update or Optifine comes out and that fixes it, I can't exactly get a new graphics card because I'm on a laptop....
Thanks Obama :/
