Im having the same problem but in the snapshots. I dont think this is just a 1.7.2 bug. Hopefully someone around here can find the problem because for the last week ive been looking into reseting port forwarding and everyone reseting their routers. ive even went so far as to look into the coding and i still cant find the problem. as a server owner trying to make a series this is a real problem.
I may have found the problem with minecraft servers not being able to open due to the "java.net.connectexception: connection timed out: no further information" error. After digging for the last 2 weeks i finally came to looking into javas coding. I found that when you open the java control panel and view the java tab and click view it takes you to the programs that run off of java. in that i found the minecraft one. if you look in it it is under the 1.7 platform and under the path it says "C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre7\bin\javaw.exe" now after i looked at this i didnt think it was anything. It took me 3 days to realize that in your .minecraft folder there is no longer a bin folder. java is trying to run minecraft off a non existing folder. the thing im stuck on is what do i need to change? what are they substituting the bin folder with. once someone figures that out minecraft servers will be able to work again. please someone help. we are on the verge of finishing this.
