I just updated to 1.7 and found my sound doesn't work.
I opened my music program and my music plays so its not my headset.
I tried deleting my resource pack and playing that way, but still no sound.
I also deleted my .minecraft folder and redownloaded the game still without any sound.
My sounds are all the way up and Windows volume for Minecraft is all the way up.

I feel I'm missing something so simple, but I can't seem to fins out what it is.

I'm not even sure what Magic Launcher is. I'm just using the standard Minecraft launcher.

My fiancée had this issue today on Windows 8 when the launcher auto-updated to 1.7.2. We just deleted the %APPDATA%\.minecraft\resources folder and closed and opened the launcher. We had also tried to "F3+S" trick before but it didn't do anything.
