I have played multiple account on this computer and my first account I played the files showed up but the rest of my accounts do not have the files saving in that folder. I can play the saves just fine but when I try to back up my files I cant find them. Where do the files go if not there? Any help please!
There is a different %APPDATA% for each windows user account, it's part of each windows user profile.
You can either navigate to %APPDATA% while logged in to the various other accounts, or navigate directly to C:\Users\someusername\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft
I appreciate your response! Unfortunately I have tried that. There is only one Windows user profile and the rest are various accounts when the computer was created. None of which hold my saves files
did you not mean windows user profiles here: "played multiple account on my computer"?
If you use a different minecraft account to play single player games, it has no effect on where the games are saved. single player games are account agnostic.
If you are using multiple launcher profiles and have set the 'game directory' option for some of them, then the saves files for those profiles are in those game directories.
I do appreciate the assistance. I meant I've played multiple minecraft accounts on this computer. There is only 1 windows profile. I checked the appdata/roaming/.minecraft/saves file and the only saves in there are the 1st account I played not the rest. Obviously they are saved somewhere but it is not there. I have searched everywhere and I cannot find the answer.
The saves don't move just because you use a different minecraft account.
If you ever deleted .minecraft as part of some troubleshooting, then they got deleted then.
So, by default the saves go into your windows account %APPDATA%/.minecraft/saves
You can change that by setting the APPDATA environment variable to point somewhere else, and of course the new launcher let's you change the save directory for each profile.
You can search for level.dat files on your computer if you are sure that you couldn't possibly have deleted them.
