So here's the deal: Every time I get on minecraft something like this happens:

I get on, sign up, and connect to a server just fine.

Play, have fun, derp, etc. All the good stuff about mc

Server crashes/lagg out/kicked for afk/whatever that makes me leave the server

Here's where the juicy stuff happens. When I disconnect, it brings me to the server screen, just like normal.

Sitting there and waiting, the ping requests never respond, and the bars just keep floating back and forth (the little connection bar things never finalize)

When I do try to connect to a server, my client freezes and needs to be closed in task manager.

If I leave the multiplayer menu and go back to the title screen, then click on multiplayer again, the same freeze occurs.

Interestingly enough, this only happens when I've been playing for a long enough amount of time: and it doesn't seem to matter whether I'm sitting in the menu screen or playing on a SMP or SSP server: I can't reconnect to servers after a given amount of time.

This also only happens on my computer, so it's probably an issue on the install. However, I want to know if any of you helpful people have had similar issues and could help me =D

Note: I have not tried re-installing MC, nor have I ever modded (I did try once, but could not figure out how to make it work).
