On snapshots and pre-leases since the shaders, minecraft now hangs for me on the Mojang screen for an inordinately long time. On the first couple snapshots, it would take about twenty minutes to start. On the 1.7 pre-lease, I've now been waiting about two hours. It's still loading, and Java is taking 1.3 gigs of memory and about 92% processing power.
I'm on a Toshiba Satellite running Ubuntu 12.04 with 5.8gb memory and an intel on-board graphics card. Anyone have an idea what the problem might be?
After about three hours, it finished loading. Framerate was perfectly fine but, when it had to load new chunks, the game would freeze for about five seconds. And it was consuming 2.3gb of memory, at that point.

Here's a pastebin of the console's output from when I first tried to launch: http://pastebin.com/Z244L6Nz
