Good Day,
I apologize if this is a very "newbie" question, but I am a newbie. I would like to create a separate user account on my Mac for my Minecrafting son. Since Minecraft resides in library/application support, it doesn't seem possible to share that application across accounts. (The initial install was done in the admin account.) So, my question: How do I make the Minecraft application available to multiple accounts on a Mac?
If you want to access to multiple account over the one minecraft application then you have to sign out of one account and sign in to the other one. Hope this helps!
It's not clear what your goal is.
1) Are you trying to 'transfer' everything to the new account?
2) Are you trying to share saves with your son?
3) Or is your son going to have his saves, and you have your saves?
For (1) I'd think that there is a way to move everything and fix up the ownership properly (but I'm not a mac guy).
For (3) you can just 'install' the launcher again in your son's account and his saves will be isolated from yours even if you use the same MC credentials (in turn) to use minecraft
(2) is problematic. In single player there is one 'master' set of saved data that contains the player's location, inventory, etc. This data is used no matter what MC account was used to log in to the single player world.
