Hello, new user hereI just bought Minecraft yesterday. It was running great. Updated Java and double checked the video drivers. I played for probably 4 hours straight, was running so smooth i didn't even bother checking to see what fps I was getting. I was even able to run with 'Far' view distance and 'Fancy" Graphics. i didn't turn down any of the default settings, I was actually able to turn a few up!
Day 2 with Minecraft:
I tried modding it, and had problems so i completely got rid of everything and started fresh. Now I am probably running at a third of the fps I had yesterday (this is guess and this was with the same settings). The frame-rate at the same settings as yesterday put me around 8-10 fps. I have spend a couple of hours trying to research this problem, I can't find anything definitive to do that I haven't tried yet. I even knocked down all the settings to the lowest and I was only getting around 18 fps.
This is a huge difference. What could have happened in less than 24 hours? I will take any help offered.
Thanks in advance.
Comp Specs:
OS: WIn 7 64-bit (yes, I made sure that my java was 64 bit also)
Processor: AMD FX(tm)-4100 Quad-Core Processor, 3600Mhz
Video: NVIDIA GeForce GT 630 ( I have the newest drivers)
RAM: 6.00 GB
If I am not mistaken you can tell the computer to use video cards, so when you reinstalled the minecraft files the computer may not tell the video card to run when minecraft starts. That might be your problem, or i am talking out of my butt right now.
