Hello. I've crashed 3 times tonight while trying to play on snapshot 13w42a. All three times I was shown the "We think your game may be modded, and as such we cannot accept your report." The first time I shrugged it off, remembering that I had installed Single Player Commands a month or so ago. I thought that may be messing it up, and just decided to delete my .minecraft after backing up my saves and screenshots.
I changed the new default profile back to the snapshot, and tried again. But when I was changing the settings (I have an older computer and play on lower settings) the game crashed yet again. I got the same message about a modded game as before (despite having just cleaned my files), and this time I copied the crash report: http://pastebin.com/4YM3Z6dc
I was midway through posting this a few minutes ago, when I realized my java was out of date. I thought maybe that was the problem, so I updated java and tried again. But, once again, my game crashed while adjusting settings. Here is that crash report: http://pastebin.com/3LxBkCas
If I recall correctly, the 2nd and 3rd crashes occurred when turning down the Hostile Mob volume, if that's at all useful.
And I've tried using the command prompt to get my java version, but it's saying "'java' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file." Before I updated java, it showed my version, but now I just keep getting this. The actual java site is telling me that I'm on Version 7 update 45.
I think I've covered all the bases, but if you need to know anything else I'll do my best to help. And I'm sorry if someone has already reported this issue, but I didn't see anything about it.
Tried a new world, and it was good for a minute. I adjusted the settings a bit, nothing bad happened. I found some sheep, and thought to try adjusting the Friendly Animals volume, and I crashed: http://pastebin.com/SCPuaJfC
The other times when I adjusted the Hostile Mob volume, there were some zombies around my house. Buggy snapshot issue or something? I really don't know.
