I've been having a problem that's really been bothering me.
A few months ago, I used to play Minecraft with at least 30 FPS most of the time using Optifine. I had my view distance at Short+48 or at Normal with most of the visual settings turned on, and I rarely had any lag. However, after recently doing a complete system re-install, I had to download all the drivers and hardware for my computer again. Thankfully, I had a text document on my USB with all the links to the drivers, so I just re-downloaded and installed everything just like before. But now, when I run Minecraft with Optifine, I literally have to have all my visuals turned off and view distance at Tiny just to get over 10 FPS. What the hell happened to my MC?
If anyone could help me out with this problem, I would really appreciate it.
Also, if it helps, I'm running a 2006 Gateway with Windows Vista 64-bit operating system. 2.00 GHz and 4 GB RAM.
Terrible, I know, but I can't afford anything better right now.
If it was a couple of months ago it will probably just have been the recent minecraft and java updates. On minecraft 1.3.7 I had 140fps on max settings but since 1.4+ I have had between 30-70fps depending on what version so It is most likely nothing to do with your system reinstall.
