Just recently started having this problem after coming back to Minecraft after a hiatus. After getting the new launcher, downloading everything for the latest version and pressing play, I encounter a white screen until I close the game. I've let it run, but it never works it out.
Suspecting a Java issue, I uninstalled 64-bit through my control panel, and tried 32-bit. The game started without incident. My issue here is that I have a 64-bit OS and 16 GB of RAM that I'd love to be able to utilize, especially when I move on to Feed the Beast, as is my intent.
My system specs are as follows:
-Intel i7-3630QM
-16.0 GB RAM
-Windows 8 64-bit
-GeForce GTX 675MX
I've updated Java to the latest, but it will not run with 64-bit, only 32-bit. I've tried clean installations of Minecraft. At all times, I am only running one version of Java. I have used 64-bit with Minecraft in the past, and I have no idea what is causing the current issue.
Thanks for your help!
