I've been running Minecraft 1.5.2 just fine on my Intel-based iMac running Mac OS 10.6.8. Tried to update to Minecraft 1.6.4 today and it won't work. I downloaded minecraft.dmg, ran it, dragged the Minecraft icon to Applications, then tried to launch the application, and it launches the old version 1.5.2.
I saw a forum post suggesting I first update Java and did so; I'm running the latest Java for OS 10.6, update 16. Didn't help.
Is Minecraft 1.6.4 not compatible with OS 10.6.8? If so please specify the minimum system requirements in terms of OS; I couldn't find them anywhere. This will at least put me out of my misery.
